Solo AI - Privacy Policy

Loka Inc. ("Loka," "we," "us," or "our") developed Solo AI, a meeting notes application ("App") that uses on-device artificial intelligence to transcribe and summarize your meetings. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before downloading or using Solo AI. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.

1. Our Core Privacy Commitment: Your Data Stays on Your Device

Solo AI is built on a privacy-first principle: all meeting audio, transcriptions, summaries, and notes generated by the App are processed and stored exclusively on your device. We do not transmit, upload, or store your meeting content — or any derivative of it — to Loka's servers or any third-party cloud service.

This means:

  • Your meeting recordings and notes are never sent to the cloud.
  • Loka has no access to anything discussed, recorded or noted  in your meetings.
  • Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all data associated with it, as no copy exists elsewhere.

2. Information the App Accesses

a. Microphone and Audio

Solo AI requires access to your device's microphone to capture meeting audio for transcription. This audio is processed entirely on your device in real time and is not transmitted off your device. You will be prompted to grant microphone permission before first use. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device's system settings, though doing so will prevent the App from functioning.

b. Device Storage

The App stores generated notes, transcripts, and summaries in your device's local storage. This data remains under your sole control. You may delete it at any time from within the App or by uninstalling the App.

c. Crash and Diagnostic Data (Aggregated & Anonymous)

When the App crashes, your device's operating system platform (Apple App Store or Google Play) may prompt you to send an anonymous crash report. You choose at that moment whether to submit this report. If you choose to send it, the App may receive aggregated, anonymous crash and performance diagnostic data through that platform.

This data does not include meeting content or any personally identifiable information. It is used solely to identify and resolve technical issues. You can manage crash reporting preferences at any time through your device's system settings.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Solo AI is designed so that all data generated through your use of the App (including everything you record and any responses you receive) is stored exclusively on your device. Solo AI and Loka never have access to, store, or process this data.

4. No Account Required

Solo AI does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information (such as your name or email address) to use the App. The App is fully functional without any registration.

5. On-Device AI Processing

The artificial intelligence features that power Solo AI's transcription and summarization capabilities operate entirely on your device using local on-device models. No meeting content is sent to an external AI service or API for processing.

6. Third-Party Services and SDKs

The App may include third-party software development kits (SDKs) provided by Apple or Google for standard platform functionality (e.g., crash reporting as described in Section 2d). These third parties operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:

Any data collected by these platform-level SDKs is governed by those third parties' policies, not this Privacy Policy. Loka does not receive individually identifiable data from these sources.

7. Data Security

Because Solo AI stores all data locally on your device, the security of your meeting notes depends significantly on the security measures you have in place on your device (such as screen lock, device encryption, and operating system updates). We strongly encourage you to use your device's built-in security features. Because the App does not store any data on its servers, Loka cannot recover, restore, or provide your data if your device is lost or compromised.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All data created by Solo AI resides on your device and is subject to your own retention decisions. You may delete individual notes or all App data from within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored App data. Since Loka does not store any of your data, we have no data to delete on our end.

9. International Users

Since Solo AI does not transmit personal data to Loka or any third-party servers (outside of the anonymous, aggregated crash diagnostics described in Section 2d), the international data transfer concerns that typically arise for cloud-based applications do not apply to your meeting content.

10. Your Rights and Choices

  • Microphone access: You may revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.
  • Diagnostic data: You may opt out of platform-level crash reporting through your device settings.
  • Your notes: You are in full control of all data stored by the App and may delete it at any time within the App.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
