The situation
Vestmark, a leading provider of SaaS-driven portfolio management and trading solutions, roadmapped an AI-powered assistant to support their financial advisors, but their platform couldn’t handle the operational load. This AI assistant would have to understand advisor intent, retrieve relevant insights from internal documentation in real time and take secure action through API calls, all within a highly regulated and performance-sensitive environment. Realizing their ambitions outweighed their internal AI capabilities, Vestmark came to Loka for support.
The solution
Loka designed and implemented an agentic AI solution called the AI Advisor Assistant, powered by Anthropic's Claude on Amazon Bedrock with Amazon Aurora. Claude handles the contextual reasoning at the core of the assistant, interpreting advisor intent, deciding which internal sources to retrieve and determining when to trigger secure API actions. This tool enables real-time knowledge retrieval, contextual reasoning and direct action execution, and leverages retrieval-augmented generation to provide high-fidelity responses, guiding advisors through complex workflows while remaining fully integrated with Vestmark’s existing infrastructure. Running on AWS-native architecture, the AI Advisor Assistant delivers scalable automation, high performance and enterprise-grade security.

The AI Advisor Assistant is capable of real‑time knowledge retrieval, context‑aware decision‑making and API‑based automation. It dramatically accelerates the process of finding and acting on information and adapts to the unique workflows of the financial services industry, offering a secure, scalable and intelligent layer of support within the Vestmark platform.
