The situation

Market research is evolving rapidly. Brands no longer have weeks to wait for research reports or static dashboards. They need AI that can reason through complex questions, orchestrate multi-step workflows, and deliver insights that drive immediate business decisions.

Fuel Cycle, an AI-native decision intelligence platform that helps enterprises continuously understand customers, partnered with Loka to modernize its flagship AI products. The goal was to move from a traditional AI architecture to an Agentic platform on AWS Bedrock that could support sophisticated research workflows, leverage multiple foundation models, and evolve as AI capabilities continue to advance.

The challenge

Fuel Cycle’s existing AI could generate insights but lacked the flexibility to orchestrate complex, multi-step reasoning across diverse research scenarios. Researchers needed a platform that could understand natural language requests, dynamically select the best AI model for each task, and execute sophisticated workflows without requiring technical expertise.

The solution also needed to be future-ready. Fuel Cycle wanted an extensible architecture its own engineering team could own, customize, and continue enhancing as new models and capabilities emerged. At the same time, performance, cost efficiency, and enterprise-grade reliability remained essential for production workloads.

The solution

Loka partnered closely with Fuel Cycle’s engineering team to rebuild its AI platform around an Agentic architecture powered by Amazon Bedrock. Rather than relying on a single model, the new platform intelligently leverages multiple foundation models, selecting the most appropriate model for each research task while allowing configurations to evolve over time.

Researchers can now interact with the platform using natural language to launch complex, multi-step research workflows. Agentic AI coordinates analysis across qualitative and quantitative data, surfaces the most meaningful insights, and automates tasks that previously required significant manual effort.

Throughout the engagement, Loka worked alongside Fuel Cycle’s engineers, transferring knowledge while building a scalable architecture the customer could independently extend and maintain.

Fuel Cycle successfully modernized its production AI platform with a flexible, Agentic architecture built for the next generation of AI-powered research. Researchers can now execute sophisticated workflows through natural language, select the best AI model for each task, and complete complex analyses faster and at lower cost. Built on Amazon Bedrock and engineered in partnership with Loka, the platform also gives Fuel Cycle a scalable foundation for continuously adopting new foundation models and Agentic capabilities.
