ProFinda uses AI on AWS to match talent to project roles and explain recommendations in natural language.
ProFinda is a workforce optimization platform that helps professional services organizations match people and skills to project demand. Its AI-powered platform considers skills, experience, availability, location, cost, and other factors to recommend the best-fit talent.
ProFinda wanted to extend its platform with generative AI capabilities that could not only identify the strongest candidates for a role, but also explain why those candidates were selected.
The company partnered with Loka to develop an AI-powered matching and explanation solution on AWS, giving staffing teams faster recommendations and clear, human-readable reasoning behind each decision.

ProFinda needed to move beyond traditional candidate search and create an intelligent matching process that could evaluate multiple factors simultaneously, including skills, grade, location, and availability.
The solution also needed to make AI-generated recommendations easier for decision-makers to understand. Rather than simply presenting a ranked list, the system needed to explain the strengths and tradeoffs of each recommended profile.
ProFinda also needed a flexible architecture that could run matching and explanation workflows on demand or on a schedule, while providing API-based access and production-ready AWS infrastructure.

Loka developed a two-part AI solution on AWS. The first component is an optimization engine that scores and ranks candidates for open roles using configurable weights across skills, grade, location, and availability.
The second component uses Anthropic Claude on Amazon Bedrock to analyze the matching results and generate natural-language explanations, including the reasons a candidate was selected along with relevant pros and cons.
AWS SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EventBridge orchestrate the AI workflows, while API Gateway provides API-based access. The architecture supports both on-demand and scheduled execution.

The solution pairs optimization algorithms with GenAI, including Anthropic Claude, so decision-makers can quickly identify qualified candidates and understand the reasoning behind each recommendation.
